All Music Guide Review
Bunch O-Hits, Vol. 1: Best of '90s Rock is an excellent mid-line collection of alternative pop hits from the early '90s. Although a couple of songs sound dated -- namely 4 Non Blondes' "What's Up" and Dada's "Dizz Knee Land" -- almost all of the remaining 13 songs are pop classics of their era. The collection is balanced between one-hit wonders and worthy acts that never were able to manage more than a hit or two. Taken all together, the result is a great time capsule that captures the glory days of alternative pop-rock's mainstream breakthrough. Among the highlights are Bjork's "Human Behavior," Belly's "Feed the Tree," Michael Penn's "What's Up," The La's "There She Goes," Inspiral Carpets' "Two Worlds Collide," James' "Laid," Aimee Mann's "I Should've Known," Ministry's "Jesus Built My Hotrod," Frank Black's "Los Angeles" and Dinosaur Jr.'s "Feel the Pain." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
