All Music Guide Review
I Love Rock & Roll: Hits of the '70s is an excellent mid-line collection that contains 20 hits. Although the packaging is a little skimpy, all of the recordings are the original hit versions, which makes the compilation an excellent choice for casual listeners and the budget-minded. Among the highlights on Hits of the '70s are Steve Miller Band's "Take the Money & Run," Lynyrd Skynyrd's "What's Your Name, "Foreigner's "Feels Like the First Time," Doobie Brothers' "Black Water," Guess Who's "American woman," the Band's "Up on Cripple Creek," Three Dog Night's "Never Been to Spain," Linda Ronstadt's "It's So Easy," the Raspberries' "Go All the Way," Andy Kim's "Rock Me Gently," the Knack's "My Sharona," Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz," Nick Gilder's "Hot Child in the City" and the Grass Roots' "Temption Eyes." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
