    Clocking in at only nine tracks, Rap's Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 may be a little brief, but the collection isn't a bad sampler of old-school cuts from the early '80s. There are a couple of weak cuts, but Kurtis Blow's "Basketball," D-Nice's "Call Me D-Nice," Rock Master Scott's "The Roof Is on Fire," Whodini's "Bigmouth" and UTFO's "Roxanne, Roxanne" make the disc worth its budget price. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
