    All Music Guide Review

The soundtrack to the silly Val Kilmer action movie The Saint was a surprisingly effective and useful collection of electronica, offering a good overview and introduction to many of the genre's biggest artists. Orbital's icy, attractive reworking of "The Saint Theme," Daft Punk's pulsating "Da Funk," Underworld's "Pearl's Girl," and Sneaker Pimps' sexy "6 Underground" stand out, but there are also first-rate cuts from Fluke, Dreadzone, Moby, and the Chemical Brothers, who weigh in with an instrumental of "Setting Sun." There's also Everything but the Girl, David Bowie, and Luscious Jackson, who find clever ways of balancing pop and techno. The Saint still has a few mediocre cuts from the likes of Superior and Duran Duran, but on the whole, it's one of the few soundtracks that works better as an album than as a movie. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
