Time Life's The Very Best of 60's Gold is a decent, if random, compilation of pop and soul hits. It's one of thousands of like-themed discs, with plenty of the usual suspects included: the Turtles' "Happy Together," Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe," the Temptations' "My Girl," the Mamas & the Papas' "California Dreamin'," the Monkees' "I'm a Believer," the Lovin' Spoonful's "Do You Believe in Magic," Percy Sledge's "When a Man Loves a Woman." There's really nothing that distinguishes this compilation from the others, but it will come in handy for several of the included songs are needed in a pinch. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
