Don't let the title fool you. There is nothing chilled to this disco compilation, and to label some of these classics as such is somewhat misleading and erroneous to their actual nature, especially with the packaging targeting a certain marketing demographic. However, title and packaging misconceptions aside, the Smart label lives up to its name, licensing some of Salsoul's classic dancefloor disco anthems from the mid- to early '70s. These are songs that defined the era for a large majority of disco connoisseurs -- the masterpieces that never reached the commercial pomposity of other large-scale acts, but had a potency and influence that are still felt to this very day in the spirit of house music.
