These four songs were recorded in spring 1967 in Copenhagen for a projected solo LP, but not released until this 2000 EP. Mac MacLeod takes an approach very much like the early folk-blues of Donovan on the acoustic songs "I Get the Blues When It Rains" and "London Town," and adds some flute and mild percussive backing for the covers of "Been on the Road So Long" (written by British folkie Alex Campbell) and Buffy Saint-Marie's famous "Codine." MacLeod is not as strong a singer as Donovan (and of course Donovan wrote most of his songs rather than focusing on covers), but this is still a respectable relic of British folk on the cusp of the transition to folk-psych-rock. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
