With faceless mix albums tightening their chokehold on many a record store's dance music section, it's somewhat reaffirming to see titles from established veterans who never seem to outstay their welcome. There might not be nearly as many tried and true deep house classics on Turntable Symphony when compared to 1999's Decade of Dance, but Rampling still rolls through a durable batch of tracks that have been released during the past couple years. Highlights include the "Loud House Mix" of the Todd Terry Project's "Set U Free," Nova Fronteira's "Black Sun," and Rampling's own Il Padrinos project, which contributes "How the Love Is," featuring the ageless voice of Jocelyn Brown. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
