    From Eubie Blake to Dick Hyman to David Thomas Roberts, this two-disc Vanguard collection celebrating the centennial of classic ragtime includes many top-rank composers (Scott Joplin, Joseph Lamb, James Reese Europe, Hal G. Nichols) and performers (Max Morath, Joshua Rifkin, William Bolcom). Although it may be a bit too much for an introduction to the style (especially since much of the second disc includes college groups), A Century of Ragtime is a triumphant set. ~ Keith Farley, All Music Guide
