      ROMY & MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION / O.S.T.

    All Music Guide Review

Romy & Michele's High School Reunion is a thoroughly delightful comedy about a pair of misfits returning to their hometown of Tucson, AZ for their ten-year high school reunion. Since the movie is based around experiences that happened in the '80s, it's no surprise that the soundtrack is comprised entirely of new wave and MTV hits, from Wang Chung's "Dance Hall Days" and the Vapors' "Turning Japanese" to Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon" and the Go-Go's "Our Lips Are Sealed." There are other, more comprehensive new wave collections available, of course, but the retro charm of this album is nearly as hard to resist as the movie itself. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
