    All Music Guide Review

This 21-song collection of Dr. Feelgood recordings is named for the band's frontman, the late Lee Brilleaux. Its title, Wolfman Calling is titled for Brilleaux's obsession with Howlin' Wolf. The tracks included were selected because they were the vocalist's personal favorites to perform. As such, it is a solidly overdriven set of music that comprises studio material from throughout the band's career, as well as live material. The best tunes here are "Rock Me Baby," "My Babe," "Rolling and Tumbling," and "Mad Man Blues." There are four different Dr. Feelgood lineups here; the most satisfying one features the great Wilko Johnson on guitar. In sum, this is a set for Feelgood believers, as the band's studio outings are more consistent than this. Still, it has its value as showcasing the singular talent of Brilleaux. ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
