More well-known as one of the bands covered on Metallica's 1987 Garage Days Re-Revisited EP ("The Small Hours"), Holocaust was one of the integral bands in the short metal movement known as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM), a short but potent metal-style revolution that helped give birth to more of the no-nonsense metal styles that developed in the '80s. While Holocaust never really sold a lot of records, the band was a fan favorite and proof of that can be found here on Smokin' Valves. A solid overview of their work, worth picking up for both fans who want all the good stuff in the same place and newcomers looking for the foundations of modern metal. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
