The prize for New Wave of British Heavy Metal band to have issued the most live albums over the years would have to be awarded to Saxon, perhaps second only to Motörhead. It seems like every year there is at least one new Saxon live set that rears its head, and in 2003 fans received Live in Nottingham. With a set list that sticks mostly to the classics, it's probably one of the better ones out there -- as evidenced by such renditions of Saxon standards as "The Bands Played On," "Princess of the Night," "Strong Arm of the Law," "747 (Strangers in the Night)," and, of course, "Wheels of Steel." But with the marketplace already oversaturated with so many live sets from Biff Byford and company, only the most die-hard members of the Saxon fan base will feel the need to plunk down their hard-earned clams for this set. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
