    All Music Guide Review

Except for the first two songs, Completists' Ultimate Collection, Vol. 3 ranges from 1938 to 1940, exploring in greater detail Lee Wiley's focus on the great American songbook at an early point in its history. The disc begins with several rare radio broadcasts (including a previously unreleased "Georgia on My Mind" and a version of "Sugar" backed by Eddie Condon and an all-star band), then runs through Wiley's Gershwin songbook of 1939 and ends with her Rodgers & Hart songbook of 1940. As completist series go, Devil's Music did bring some obscure performances to light, but saddled this three-volume series with many familiar songs; if it had included only the rarities, it would've made a handy single-disc volume. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
