So what happens when two of the main songwriters of a longtime band depart to form their own project (in this case it was the singer and guitarist)? Simple, the second guitarist picks up the mic and recruits two other replacements on the six-string. Regardless if this EP was either a contract obligation for Victory or that the remaining members of Deadguy wanted to keep it going despite the drastic change in their sound, Screaming With deserves some props. The songs are heavy in that progressive sort of way that keeps you guessing which direction it's going in next, while the singer screams his lungs out as if he just got his foot slammed in a car door. Not a bad final release, but technically this isn't really Deadguy in terms of their lineup. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
