Repertoire's reissue of Bang, Bang You're Terry Reid features excellent sound and nicely detailed notes concerning Reid's life and career. The bonus tracks are a pair of original songs from 1967, the year prior to the album's release, off of Reid's debut EMI-Columbia single. The original A-side, "The Hand Don't Fit the Glove," is somewhat too pop-oriented, and filled with brass that doesn't quite work, but it does have a seriously soulful performance by Reid, supported by some crunchy lead guitar. "This Time," by comparison, is a better-written song whose mournful lyrics and long melodic lines practically beg for Reid's full-out soul-shout vocal, and he gives it everything he's got. They're not a huge bonus over and above the original album or the various CD reissues of the basic ten songs -- but if this is one of the choices for an edition of the album to purchase, it's worth grabbing. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
