    All Music Guide Review

New Zealand native Graeme Revell has found his niche in the world of film music. After composing scores for thrillers like Dead Calm and The Craft, he's finally discovered a project worthy of his B-movie, B-music material. New Line Cinema's Freddy Vs. Jason is the perfect vehicle for Revell to drive. Lifting the occasional motif from Charles Bernstein's superior score from the first film, Revell brings the two villains into the 21st century with his brooding choirs and MTV edits -- it's surprising he has yet to work on a Michael Bay film, as they each have a knack for exploding good ideas. The inclusion of the Friday the 13th signature echo, as Jason is introduced, works nicely with Freddy's spooky piano trills, but the whole thing sounds like one of the endless boiler room scenes from any of the previous Nightmare on Elm Street movies. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
