After leaving the popular Mexican outfit Garibaldi, singer/actress Pilar Montenegro debuted as a solo artist with Son del Corazón. Originally issued by Fonovisa in November 1996 and re-released by Universal Latino in 2002, this 12-track record includes the Spanish rhumba-flavored "De Amarte," also delivered in club/dance style, and "Eres Todo Para Mi," the Spanish-language version of Neil Sedaka's "You Mean Everything to Me." From the dance-pop "Mueveme," and merengue "La Bruja" to a Bolero called "Se Sincero" and the seductive ballad "Deshójame," Pilar Montenegro's first album features her romantic and party/celebratory sides. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
