    All Music Guide Review

Right in line with the first five volumes, NYC Underground Party, Vol. 6 makes for an excellent collection of floor fillers of the moment. DJ Louie DeVito's pacing just keeps getting better and better and he really is living up to the "underground" tag here, pulling out some quirkier tracks than usual. Granted, superstar P. Diddy gets a spin, but it's a sultry Deep Dish mix, a fact that annoyingly gets buried in the liner notes like all the remixes here. Disc one is seamless, but what really makes the collection great is a second disc of "anthems," mostly old-school (which in the world of mainstream house means two to five years ago). Pulling out tracks by CJ Bolland and Basement Jaxx shows that DeVito's roots are a little less Madonna than most people thought, and he's keenly aware that Razor'n'Guido's massive "Do It Again" just never grows old. Those silly and quick Megamixes once again appear at the end of each disc. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
