    Not to be confused with the Pure Moods series, the Beachwood label's Pure Chillout Moods is a serviceable, if largely uneventful mix of downtempo, mild electronica, and straightforward ambient techno. It features a few name brands spread over its three CDs, including Fatboy Slim, LTJ Bukem, Moby, Etienne de Crecy, Autechre, and Groove Armada. But for the most part Chillout Moods is populated with the sort of acts that seemingly subsist exclusively on contributions to this sort of compilation. Son of Man, Blizznizz, Tai-Fun, Edge of Motion -- all of these characters exist only in the chillout world. That said, the music they contribute isn't necessarily terrible. Though it rarely makes an impression, the tenets of the downtempo genre are well-represented, making Pure Chillout Moods a satisfactory, if ultimately forgettable, budget release. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide
