The musical attributes of the Beatles have been well documented, but there was more to their mass success than just the group's brilliant songs, performances, and creative drive. They were also four completely charming personalities, particularly in the early years of Beatlemania, when their press conferences were nearly as entertaining as their concerts, and played a big part in their appeal. This three-disc set features several of these press conferences recorded between 1964 and 1966 when they were still a touring band, and they are mostly joyous affairs, charming and amusing, a glimpse inside a truly remarkable band before the pressure of being a Beatle became almost more than any of them could bear. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
