All Music Guide Review
Universal Masters Collection, released in Europe, is much like the 20th Century Masters set released in the U.S. It's dominated by the Compass Point sessions assisted by Sly & Robbie (also featuring the keyboard wizardry of the great Wally Badarou) and cuts off before 1985's Slave to the Rhythm. So most of the essential singles are here, including "Pull Up to the Bumper," "Warm Leatherette," "Love Is the Drug," "Nipple to the Bottle," and "I've Seen That Face Before (Libertango)." Though the Compass Point material makes for the bulk of her most creative and best-known material, her first three albums released during the tail end of the '70s (with production work from disco pioneer Tom Moulton) could use a little more attention. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
