    Lovin' You and Other Assorted Love Songs is a Japanese release compiling many of the best moments from the late, great Minnie Riperton. There have been several sets devoted to whittling her career highlights down to one disc, and this one -- brevity and limiting thematic scope aside -- doesn't leave a great deal to be desired. For those in the States, 1993's Capitol Gold: The Best of Minnie Riperton (released through Capitol's Capitol Gold series) remains a sufficient one-disc introduction. And if you want to go a little deeper than that (which you should seriously consider), the two-disc Petals: The Minnie Riperton Collection is excellent and features extensive liner notes. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
