Manny Lehman plays the same kind of banging house that Peter Rauhofer favors. It mixes the garish moments of Hi-NRG with the deep spirit of house, and ends up being ignored by both the mainstream and the underground. Neither camp will find much of interest in Bangin', Vol. 2, but fans of the genre are treated to one of the most aggressive mixes that's ever graced a CD. Hard to believe Arthur Baker brought icy, Kraftwerkian electro to the masses when his thumping and bubbly "1000 Years" kicks the door open in flashy, wailing diva style. The sweaty pace continues 'til Kristine W's "Save My Soul" and Murk's "Time" end the mix more gently than expected. They're both great tracks -- perfect for pulling into the garage after a long night -- but the question for most is if they can weather the build up. Unless you have at least three sweat-drenched, cigarette-smelling, cocktail-stained T-Shirts in last week's laundry, don't bother. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
