    All Music Guide Review

This is a delightful sequence of love songs (many of them Jamaican remakes of American material) done in unadorned rocksteady or roots reggae style. Highlights include one of Gregory Isaacs' best songs, "Night Nurse," the elegant and romantic "Sweet Sensation" by the Melodians, and B.B. Seaton's comforting take on Bill Withers' "Lean on Me." Nothing here gets too heavy or preachy, and songs like June Lodge's version of "Someone Loves You Honey" have a bright, refreshing tone that gives the feel of being in love on a beautiful summer day. Just to balance things out, Keith & Tex's rendition of "Stop That Train" (which has been recorded countless times by Jamaican performers, including the Wailers) is extremely ominous sounding, giving the song the exact amount of desperation it needs. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
