The Master Serie of compilations work very hard at being definitive sets for the price, and in the case of French actress and pop chanteuse Brigitte Bardot, it works fine. Here are 16 tracks from her fairly brief singing career, by the masters of the French pop genre: Serge Gainsbourg, Jean-Max Rivière, Claude Bolling, Jean-Claude Carrière, Gérard Bourgeois, and more. The hits are all here, as are a good many of the misses, and, given how you feel about Bardot's voice, there might be more of the latter than the former. ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
