Lyrics from Good Mornin' Blues
All Music Guide Review
Good Mornin' Blues is a decent compilation that traces the metamorphosis the music took between 1927 and 1952. The acoustic beginnings are well represented by Leadbelly, Charley Patton, and Tommy Johnson on through the big city urban sound of T-Bone Walker and Jimmy Witherspoon, ending up in Chicago with the beginning of the amplified electric Delta blues showcased by Sonny Boy Williamson and Muddy Waters. Though none of this material is obscure, the collector will find the track listing well chosen, while the remastering really brightens up these glorious mono recordings. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide
