A massive three-disc collection of soothing classical music, Madacy's Classics for Relaxation features performances of well-known pieces by a variety of orchestras. Highlights from the first disc include Liszt's Liebestraum No. 3 in A flat major, Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46, and Debussy's Suite Bergamasque III: Clair de Lune. The second disc features Albéniz's Suite Española, Op. 47 Sevilla, Bartholdy's Songs Without Words for Piano, Book 2, Op. 30, No. 6 in F sharp minor, and Haydn's Divertimento No. 1 in B flat major, 2nd Movement. Finally, the third disc counts Gounod's Faust Margarethe -- Ballet Music, Allegretto, Satie's Gymnopedies No. 3, and Chopin's Waltz in A flat major, Op. 69/1 among its standout moments. Even though the collection is a bit lacking in originality, it still offers plenty of sophisticated music for relaxing, studying, or any other quiet activities. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
