    Awful graphic design and a blatant attempted swipe of the Thump label's thunder (see their excellent Old School compilations), Hi Bias' Old School Nation! is a remarkably strong, if safe, set of popular club music released from the late '70s through the early '90s. Most of the tracks have appeared on dozens upon dozens of other like-themed discs, but this is a good resource if you need more than a handful of them. Highlights include Nu Shooz's "I Can't Wait," Planet Patrol's "Play at Your Own Risk," Patrice Rushen's "Forget Me Nots," Tom Tom Club's "Genius of Love," Starpoint's "Object of My Desire," and J.J. Fad's "Supersonic." Another positive: the superior extended versions are favored over the single and album edits. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
