Best Disco Album in the Universe, Vol. 5

Lyrics from Best Disco Album in the Universe, Vol. 5
All Music Guide Review
Disco, like most pop music forms, thrived in the singles format. Many of the style's best songs were issued as stand-alone releases, not on single-artist albums. The Best Disco Album in the Universe, while quite a hyperbolic title (after all, that means it must be better than The Best Disco Album in the World), is also a confounding one, since it's actually an 11-volume set sold in individual installments. None of the 11 discs can be considered the best in the universe, but when you put them all together, you have an extensive and decent body that covers platinum smashes as well as enduring underground favorites. The fifth volume of the series features Gloria Gaynor's "Casanova Brown," Slave's "Just a Touch of Love," Rufus & Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody," T-Connection's "At Midnight," Deodato's "Whistle Bump," and Change's "The Glow of Love." ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
