The story behind Flaming Burnout is that it's a benefit for the Estrus Records warehouse, which burnt down in January 1997. As for the bands, over 30 from around the globe got together and donated a song to help out for the cause. Everything from surf (Satan's Pilgrims, Man or Astro Man?), to punk (the Criminals, Mono Men, the Makers), to bands with a style all their own (Serverton, Madame X, Southern Culture on the Skids). ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
