    All Music Guide Review

What makes this particular collection of techno singles, album tracks, and remixes noteworthy isn't so much the recent stuff as the old material that has been reclaimed by the techno crowd. Alongside typical compilation fodder from the likes of Moby (whose "We Are All Made of Stars" stands up quite well on the 100th hearing, and is nicely remixed here by Timo Maas) and Lords of Acid (who contribute the more run-of-the-mill "Rubber Doll"), there's a remix of Missing Persons' "Walking in L.A." that features an appearance by Cypress Hill's Sen Dog, and, for those of you who really can't get enough of that 1980s vibe, there are two entries from Information Society: "Going Going Gone" (remixed by darkwave stalwarts Razed in Black) and "Are 'Friends' Electric?" (featuring guest vocals by none other than Gary Numan). The combination of vintage electro and up-to-the-minute techno is lots of fun, and if the younger crowd sometimes fails to uphold the standards of the old school (Sander Van Doorn's "Punk'd" is especially tiresome), there's still enough top-notch material here to make this collection worth the money. Recommended. ~ Rick Anderson, All Music Guide
