All Music Guide Review
Pure Dance 1998 is an entertaining continuous-mix collection that runs through a number of big hits from 1996 and 1997. It contains a weird mixture of remixes, edits, and original versions of hit singles and club favorites, highlighted by the Cardigans' "Lovefool," Freak Nasty's "Da' Dip," OMC's "How Bizarre," B-Rock & the Bizz's "My Baby Daddy," U2's "Discotheque," David Morales' "Wind Up Your Body,"and Pulse's "The Lover That You Are." For some listeners, the continuous-mix ploy may be annoying, but the end result is an entertaining party album. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
