Everybody Wants Some is a Van Halen tribute album comprised of Boston-based bands. While there are a few heavy rockers on the collection, the keys to the album's success are quirky alterna-rockers like Mary Lou Lord and the Gigolo Aunts, who give new twists to familiar songs. The record still has some flaws, but Everybody Wants Some is more enjoyable than most late-'90s tribute records. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
