All Music Guide Review
Walking that difficult line between hard honky tonk sentiment and a slick pop country sound, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have turned out a few future classics already, including "Boot Scootin' Boogie," "My Next Broken Heart," and the all-too-true "Neon Moon," all of which are included on this generous 20-track sampler drawn from their hugely successful run at Arista Records. Not all the essentials are here, but enough of them to make this a pretty good introduction to what this duo can bring to the table. Check out their cover version of B.W. Stevenson's 1972 pop hit "My Maria," which instinctively recognizes the country roots of the original and brings that forward without sacrificing any of its inherent pop appeal. These guys haven't sold millions of records by accident. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
