    Not to be confused with Profile's Diggin' in the Crates series, Hot Productions' Diggin' the Crates takes on a theme with each volume. The fifth volume is based on Miami bass tracks from the '80s and early '90s. Gucci Crew II's "Sally (That Girl)," MC Fresh C's "My Brougham," Gigolo Tony's "Smurf Rock," Prime Choice's "The Beat Is Fresh," Boyz From the Bottom's "Boom I Got Your Girlfriend" (note: the group was also known as Danny D & DJ Wiz), L'Trimm's "Cars With the Boom," and the Megatrons' "Rock the Planet" are featured. As the title of the series indicates, the selections are more likely to be geared toward seasoned fans -- as opposed to those who are just beginning to retrace the history of rap music. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
