    It's hard to believe that it's been three decades since Salsoul first dominated the New York disco circuit and then eventually the world at large. But this two-disc compilation flew quietly under the radar during a mass market flood of Salsoul reissues, remixes, mix CDs, rare edits, and themed compilations. This is in many ways the cream of the crop of Salsoul's output. All of the big barnstormers are here ("Hit & Run," "Runaway," "Ten Percent") alongside cult classics and disco anthems that helped to make the big DJs even bigger and pushed names like Loleatta Holloway to the top of the soul diva pile during the '70s.
