This CD originated in Italy, and there is no annotation or even a single recording date, or any information other than the "Carter Family" name and the song titles. The recordings are all decidedly modern, (and feature excellent sound), however, so don't expect anything resembling the historical Carter Family except by association and the old-time harmony singing. The material is also very beautiful, whatever its origin, and won't disappoint unless one is expecting vintage recordings. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
