    Three months after releasing Mayfield: Remixed, Rhino came back with another remix project. This time out, respected KCRW DJ Garth Trinidad pairs a dozen classics from Atlantic's vault -- from the jazz, funk, and soul wings -- with a crop of up-and-coming and established DJs and producers. As is the case with all other compilations of this kind, nearly every new version will give you a nagging itch to hear the original. The best contributions are the ones where the masters weren't provided; Sa-Ra's look at Kleeer's "Tonight," the best of the bunch, is a dazzling cover, a vibrant studio party featuring Me'Shell NdegéOcello on bass. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

    Atlantiquity is the brainchild of Los Angeles radio and club DJ Garth Trinidad, who hand-selected a dozen songs from Atlantic's extraordinary collection of artists including jazz vocalist Carmen McCrae, smooth soul singer Donny Hathaway, funk favorites Chic, and the seductive soul group Spinners. The songs were paired with renowned remixers like King Britt, Charlie Dark, and Daz-I-Kue of Bugz in the Attic along with newcomers like GB and Kev Brown.
