After a long absence from Hollywood filmmaking, legendary horror composer Pino Donaggio returned with Seed of Chucky, a score far more compelling and menacing than its source feature would suggest. Boasting all the hallmarks of classic Donaggio scores like Dressed to Kill and The Howling, Seed of Chucky is rich with slashing strings, otherworldly vocals, and sleek, ominous synths. By no means is it merely a retread, however, with "Made in Japan" and "Konichiwa" sporting an exotic charm appropriate to their respective titles, while "Our Jennifer" captures a smoky, film noir-inspired jazz atmosphere that captures the sexiness of star/inspiration Jennifer Tilly.
