    For ten years Cold Meat Industry has helped define the face of darkwave music. The post-Gothic ambient compositions from the CMI rosters are stylistically European. Incorporated are elements from Classical music to 70s easy listening. These influences are competently worked into dreary and poignant creations that bring to mind castle dungeons and ghouls staffing a studio. All tracks on this handsomely packaged 2-CD set previously unreleased. Each CD is imprinted with images from medieval wood blocks and lack distracting text. There is plenty to read in the two color booklets. One sets a page aside for each musician/band and the other is a catalog. The only drawback to this deathly good potpourri is that some selections are truncated at the end because they probably flowed into another piece in their original setting. ~ Thomas Schulte, All Music Guide
