As one of the most influential New York City punk bands of the 1980s, Nausea meshed its emphatically "street" approach with a hint of metal and a whole lot of disdain for the Reagan administration, racism, and the dreck on MTV while expressing its fears about a nuclear war. Although the band's full, proper output was already chronicled on the insightful Punk Terrorist Anthology, Vol. I, Punk Terrorist Anthology, Vol. II: 1986-1988 collects sparking live, unreleased, and demo takes of classic tunes like "Smash Racism," and "MTV (Feeding of the Fortune 500)," plus covers of tracks by Subhumans and the Business. While it may be less essential than its predecessor, in ways it's a lot more raw -- a more honest depiction of these crustcore pioneers. If you're an avid punk historian, you'll want to grab this one. ~ John D. Luerssen, All Music Guide
