"Glob" is Freeform's Simon Pyke's first proper release for the Musik Aus Strom label, whose releases by Funkstorung, Michael Fakesch, and Andre Estermann have stumbled over similar territory as Freeform releases on Skam and Worm Interface. Lodged between the more textured ambience of his recent Heterarchy and the goofball clown-funk of EPs such as "Prowl" (on Warp) and "Palavalamp" (on Worm Interface), "Glob"'s tracks play like grade school science projects; fascinating little machines that bob and twitch and squirm and pop without going much of anywhere, but keep you in a state of rapt attention nonetheless. ~ Sean Cooper, All Music Guide
