    This two-disc collection entitled The Very Best of Jesse Colin Young features 34 cuts. Most of them are remastered versions of tunes from his classic catalog, including performances with the Youngbloods, while some are from the albums listeners have come to love over the years: Songbird, Song for Juli, On the Road, Love on the Wing, and others. Then there are new tracks -- including a redone "Darkness, Darkness" and "Lovin' You" -- that only appear here, along with cuts from Young's latter period on albums like Living in Paradise and Swept Away, as well as the upcoming single "Sweet Good Times" from his forthcoming disc. In all, it's a satisfying collection, though fans will certainly have problems with what was left off. ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
