Machetazo! has 11 performances by several versions of John Santos' Machete Ensemble, recorded during 1991-1994 and 1996-1997. There are a few chanting/vocal pieces, but the emphasis is on Santos' strong soloists including Melecio Magdaluyo (on soprano, tenor, and alto), trombonists Wayne Wallace and Jeff Cressman, Ron Stallings (on soprano and flute), and percussionst Santos.
