Although it contains the word "industrial" in its title, The New Professionals is far from an industrial recording. Boiler's music is actually heavy metal/thrash/alternative rock that's laced with large doses of rap. The album was co-produced by Alex Perialas, known for his work with Testament and quite a few other metal bands. True to form, Perialas emphasizes the metal element and goes for maximum heaviness. One can't call driving tunes like "Superseed," "Hollow Point" and "Bingo" groundbreaking -- everyone from Pro-Pain to Sevendust had already provided similar metal/alternative/rap grooves in the 1990s. But while Boiler may not be innovative, the Ithaca, NY band isn't lacking when it comes to intensity, enthusiasm and some healthy aggression. ~ Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
