This "three-fer" from Metal Blade's progressive metal veterans King's X includes 1998's Tape Head, 2000's Please Come Home...Mr. Bulbous, and 2001's Manic Moonlight. Besides Tape Head, their aggressive and experimental fourth record, these three releases are not indicative of the band's long-lasting appeal, and the fact that there are no bonus tracks or supplemental material make this "untitled" box set a waste of time for longtime fans. However, the set is priced to move, so those willing to jump into the King's X timeline backwards aren't going to break the bank. Their first three Atlantic releases are far better examples of the Texas trio's criminally overlooked career. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
