    All Music Guide Review

The first disc of the two-CD set Doo-Wop Forever was previously released as the single-disc compilation Doo-Wop Archives. Empire Musicwerks deleted that title and repackaged it with a second disc to create the expanded anthology Doo-Wop Forever, and the revised package is a distinct improvement. The second disc adds more doo wop hits and rarities, and more, in this case, is better. Hits include a stereo mix of "My True Story" by the Jive Five; the Classics' "Till Then"; the Crests' first hit, "Sweetest One"; the Aquatones' "You"; and the Fireflies' "You Were Mine." The recordings represent a mixture of black, white, and integrated vocal group sides from the '50s and early '60s originally recorded for a myriad independent labels, similar in scope and presentation to Hip-O Records' Street Corner Essentials. There are a million doo wop compilations out there, but Doo-Wop Forever rises above the pack for rounding up a number of minor and middling doo wop hits. ~ Greg Adams, All Music Guide
