With a similar concept to Chinese Whispers, Endlessnessism approximates a remix relay race. In essence, the first producer creates a track, and is remixed by the next artist in line, who is remixed by the next, and so forth, until the end of the album; Sarilou passes to Quant who passes to Bedouin Ascent who passes to Bowling Green to Ian O'Brien to Endemic Void to Roupe, and nine tracks later, Friend finishes the compilation. Released by the Swedish new-school electro label Dot (and including many from the Dot stable), Endlessnessism accomplishes more than Chinese Whispers and sounds less forced, perhaps because Dot has a closer sense of community between its artists (10 of the 16 appearing here have recorded or remixed for the label). Though a few artists drop the baton with bland contributions, almost every track is a winner. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
