    This surprisingly good collection features some of the most recognizable voices in vocal pop and vocal jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Paul Anka, Sarah Vaughan, Tony Bennett, Flora Purim, Diana Krall, and Anita O'Day), as well as others who, while they might not have the superstar status of the others, possess the same commanding vocal presence. Most of the artists on Blue Voices: The Finest in Swingin' Jazz Ballads, Vol. 3 hit their peak of popularity in the '50s and '60s, though some, like Krall, Paddy Milner, and Ian Shaw, found fame in the later part of the century. There are a lot of great, classic songs here, and though, like its predecessors, the "theme" of the album (well, actually albums, as it's a two-disc set) is more about overall ambience and mood rather than any kind of greater historical or contextual significance, Blue Voices: The Finest in Swingin' Jazz Ballads, Vol. 3 still delivers a pretty nice set. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
